MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) is honored to be the host the 46th IFAWPCA convention with the theme “Partnering in Sustainable Infrastructure” after the success of the 45th IFAWPCA convention held in Maldives. We welcome you to witness not only the growth of the construction sector, but also the rich culture, heritage and natural endowments of Nepal.

FCAN has been an active organization representing the Nepalese construction sector, a rapidly growing sector of the Nepali economy. As the largest umbrella organization of over 24,000 contractors in the country, FCAN is committed to supporting its stakeholders and play an active role in the economic development of the country. FCAN has also worked in creating vital links with the international community, and have been an active member of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific
Contractors’ Associations (IFAWPCA) since 1993.

As a growing industry and one of the major contributors to the national GDP, construction presents a tremendous opportunity for entrepreneurs from Nepal and abroad to participate in Nepal’s development. In this publication, we have covered a brief overview on the role and history of FCAN, and some highlights on the possibilities and opportunities present in Nepal’s construction sector.
